Helping bring our museum to life...

Museums offer fascinating, enjoyable and rewarding volunteering opportunities.  At Gloucester Waterways Museum volunteers; 

  • help the museum survive and thrive
  • become part of an enthusiastic community of people
  • spend time in a unique and historic, waterside setting
  • learn about fascinating histories and stories
  • work in a sociable and friendly environment
  • use their skills and knowledge in new and rewarding ways
  • hone or learn new skills.

We are looking for volunteers to help in the following areas:

  • ticket office and shop
  • office administration
  • marketing
  • boat trips (including cleaning & painting, crewing, bar and catering)
  • school visits
  • craft demonstrations
  • events
  • site services (looking after displays and equipment).

Whatever your age and experience we would love to hear from you, and will offer training and support to ensure you get the most from your volunteering at the museum.
