Make it fun! You don’t have to be a history expert to talk about the collection – using the information next to the exhibit, describe what you can see.
Take your time Feel free to sit down and have a rest. Throughout the museum there are exhibits which your children can have a go at, and during holiday periods there are usually special activities on offer, from storytellers to arts and crafts. Have a break and let someone else do the entertaining for a while!
Try a change of pace You can always break up your visit with a drink or bite to eat in the museum café – food and drink will give you and your children a new burst of energy.
From April until October we run boat trips at Gloucester Docks and Ellesmere Port. As well as another opportunity to sit down, you and your family will also have the chance to learn about our waterways today.
