Learning

The three National Waterways Museums are each ideal for bringing to life for children the story of our waterways.

Our education programmes link with English, Maths, Science, Technology, the Arts and, of course History.

With museums in the South West, North West and Central England we make waterways heritage accessible to schools across much of the UK.

Find out what each museum has to offer by clicking on the links below.

Learning resources for schools

The excellent website Wild over Waterways offers a hugh range of resources, mainly targeted at children aged seven to eleven.

It includes materials relating to each of the three National Waterways Museums.

And it can also help bring to life for children and pupils the canals and rivers in your area.
